A day in Nashville

A friendly greeter at a Nashville Honky Tonk!

Ryman Auditorium, home of the original Grand Old Opry.

A nice pleasant rest day in Nashville started rather late in the morning as this weary body didn't wake up until 9:53! Marcy and I had a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, The Hermitage Hotel. This hotel has been the top of the class during our trip across America. The service has been excellent, beyond expectations!

We had an excellent dinner at the Midtown Cafe, one of the top ten rated restaurants in Nashville. We both chose Lemon Artichoke soup for our appetizer based on the recommendation of our server who claimed this was their signature dish. It was delicious! After a nice Caesar Salad we both chose a veal dish, Marcy had Veal Oscar and I had Veal Piccata; both were excellent as we both remained members of the clean plate club. If your ever dining in Nashville, you would be wise to consider the Midtown Cafe.

Tomorrow is our last long riding day - 125 miles across central Tennessee to Crossville.

Hi Mark!
Wow! I get the sense that you are slowly going into the "winding down" mode for the rest of the ride. I'm sure we have only seen the tip of the iceberg as far as your experiences, emotions, etc. have been on this ride. Hope the next few days will the most memorable (in a good way) and enjoyable of all. Sounds like Nashville was a wonderful city for a rest day. Enjoy the last century plus.
Ride on......
